5 Main Bearing Girdle Kit

INTRODUCTION 

This kit provides a 5 Main Bearing solution for a Ford Flathead V8. This is designed for racing applications and gives the engine the ultimate block support and crankshaft strength.  

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • 1 x Main Bearing Girdle

    • Part Number: TWR201-03

    • Material: 7075-T6 Billet Aluminium

    • Oil Feed In: left side (looking forward)

    • Oil Feed Thread: ½” BSP

    • Oil Pump: supports Ford oil pump mounting (not supplied)

  • 2 x Girdle Caps

    • Material: 7075-T6 Billet Aluminium

  • 4 x Girdle Cap Locators

    • Material: 4340 Steel

  • 1 x Crankshaft

    • Material: 4340 steel

    • Main Bearing Quantity: 5

    • Stroke: 4.1” standard - custom stokes available on request

    • New Mains: same diameter as original, width 1”

    • Big End: small journal SBC, narrowed to stock Ford 0.865”

    • Oiling: conventional V8 straight shot

    • Snout: 1.246” SBC diameter, 3.225” length, 2 x 3/16” keyways

MACHINING TO BE DONE BY EXPERIENCED MACHINE SHOP:

  • 1) Flathead block must be drilled for 2 pins to precision locate the girdle. Pins not supplied

  • 2) Flathead block and girdle must be line bored to final main bearing size

NOTES:

  • 1) Not included in quotation: Engine block, seals, bearings, rods, pistons, oil pump, oil pump pickup, timing gear, harmonic balancer, front pulleys, flyweel/flexplate etc

  • 2) Sump Rails only provided. Customer must fabricate sump to suit application
